Biar Colossus (ビアル・コロッサス) is a minor character in Promare.

Biar is the personal assistant of Kray Foresight, the Executive Governor of the Autonomous Republic of Promepolis and President of the Foresight Foundation. She acts together with Kray and executes the instructions she receives to a tee.

Personality

As Kray's assistant, she is fairly reserved, only speaking when necessary and rarely having an emotional response to anything unless she herself is in danger. This would make her self-centered. She follows Kray's orders obediently and works alongside the likes of both him and Heris. She may occasionally give orders as well.

Appearance

Biar wears her purple hair in a bun, with large stray strands sticking upward, giving her a bird-like appearance. It is held together with a black pin. She bears a large side bang, covering the right side of her face. She is a thin, pale woman of average height. Furthermore, Biar also wears red lipstick and blue eye shadow, making her one of the few characters with makeup.

She wears a two-piece uniform with a black and white coat featuring cleavage and a pure black skirt reaching her knees. The white segments of her coat resemble a corset. Biar also wears black high-heels. A white bracelet can be found on her right arm as a black choker is adorned around her neck.

History

Promare

Biar is first seen following Kray at Foresight's tower. She also joins him and Galo on the elevator to Heris' laboratory. Biar does not respond to anything that occurs around her, such as Kray's magma demonstration and Galo being dragged away by guards.

Later in the film, Biar assists Kray in giving commands to his workers. She also analyzes Deus X Machina's transformation into Lio de Galon, commenting on its flame purity. The last time Biar is seen is in the ship being blasted by Galo de Lion's teal flames. As teal flames do not hurt non-Burnish, she is not dead.

Relationships

Kray

Kray is Biar's employer and is the person Biar is almost always with. As Kray's secretary, she is charge of giving out Foresight's commands and assisting him with business matters. Biar is obedient and is not surprised by Kray's anger.

Heris

Heris and Biar cooperated as fellow colleagues to the Foresight Foundation. Both share the roles of working as higher-ups who lead employee groups such as the scientists. Biar, like many things, is neutral to Heris and does not respond to Heris' reaction to Kray's punch at her lab.

Galo

Her interactions with the young man are brief. She never talks to him directly, nor does she respond to the mistreatment inflicted upon him in Heris' lab. Biar also assists Kray with the scientists as he deals with Galo and Lio. While her exact thoughts are unknown, it is made clear that any on him are either negative or neutral at best.

Etymology

• Biar, alongside Kray, is named after a Greek god. Biar comes from Bia, the God of Force, while Kray comes from Kratos. They are twin giants who assisted in the punishment of Prometheus.

Story Concepts

• Concept art of Biar gives her long or blonde hair. She is also occasionally depicted with a tan.
  • Her final design has aspects of Pandy from Dead Leaves, namely in hairstyles and lipstick.
