Thirty years ago, the appearance of a new race of mutated fire controlling humans, the Burnish, caused a cataclysm that set half the world ablaze. In the present day, the Autonomous Republic of Promepolis is defended from Mad Burnish by Burning Rescue, a motorized squad of emergency firefighters. Burning Rescue utilizes advanced firefighting methods, including their rescue gear the Edo-period themed mecha called "Matoi Tech". In the inferno of a flaming skyscraper, Galo Thymos, a new Burning Rescue recruit, plunges into violent battle with Lio Fotia, the leader of Mad Burnish. This sparks a chain of events leading to Galo questioning the true motives of the Burnish and learning a disturbing truth from Lio that could change the fate of the world. |
