The frozen lake is a location in the film Promare where Galo goes to cool off whenever he's upset. It is also the location where the Burnish cave hideout and Deus Prometh's lab can be found.

Appearance[]
The frozen lake itself is icy-blue, surrounded by snow and forest. Nearby mountains can also be seen. The lake is deep enough to contain the entirety of Deus' lab.
Within the walls of said lab is a variety of panels and projections to support AI Deus. Machinery such as Deus X Machina can also be found.
Next to the lake is a cave where Lio and his fellow Burnish seek shelter. The area itself is filled with rocky walls and dirt. As they hide, grocery bags and blankets can be seen littering the area as a small campfire comforts them.
History[]
Before Promare[]
About the time of Deus' death, in order to hide his research from Kray, Dr. Prometh created both an AI and hidden laboratory where said AI would continue said research. For years, he observed Promepolis through hidden cameras and engineered Deus X Machina. Sometime before the events of Promare, Galo discovered the lake. Ever since then, he instinctively drives there to vent out his frustrations.
Promare[]
Frustrated about the mistreatment of a Burnish man, Galo goes off on his own. Aina follows him, fearing him to be chasing after Freeze Force. She then finds out the truth. The duo proceed to skate together. They discuss the expectations placed on them by others. Galo finds himself representing Kray while Aina claims to only be known for her sister. They parallel each other.
Embarrassed Aina
Suddenly, Aina falls over, only for Galo to catch her. She is left embarrassed as Galo notices a nearby flame. He accidentally drops her and goes after it. Galo soon finds two children. He follows them closely until he discovers a campfire surrounded by Burnish. As a young boy notices him, Lio knocks the firefighter out and ties him to a pillar formation. When he awakens, Lio is nearby.
The duo briefly talk, with Lio insulted by Galo's accusations. Soon, Galo realizes his wrongs and apologizes. Attention is then brought towards a young woman. In an attempt to save her, Lio conducts CPR on her. His attempts are in vain as she dies anyway. Lio then leaves, revealing her death to be caused by Governor Foresight, as Aina later finds Galo.
In the aftermath of Lio's attack on Promepolis, Aina brings Galo and Lio there to "cool off." From the heat of Lio's body, the trio accidentally uncover Deus' lab. They are then led inside by Deus. Here, they learn that not only was Deus murdered by Kray, but the Burnish are in fact synced with an alien species known as Promare. In an effort to stop Kray's plans, he asks Galo and Lio to pilot Deus X Machina. They oblige. After launching off, the destruction from the migration plan ends up destroying the lab as Deus admits he would have done nothing had he not been accidentally found by Aina and company.

- Galo claims to have previously dug into the ice and reached 6 meters.
- Deus claims he is able to observe Promepolis in his laboratory. This is evidenced by the Parnassus' launch being shown.
Story Concepts[]
- In previous scripts, Galo was to hold Lio as they fell into the lake with Lio losing his previous form.
- Earlier drafts also had Deus as a talking radio rather than a projection.
