The Great World Blaze, also known as the Great World Burn, was a cataclysmic event that occurred thirty years before the events of Promare.
History[]
The catastrophe was brought about when random people worldwide began developing Burnish abilities and succumbing to their newfound powers. These instances came from every day stress, such as traffic or arguments.
During this time, anti-Burnish sentiments arose leading to the talks and implementation of segregation policies, and clashes between Burnish and non-Burnish populations. Mad Burnish rose up into power and committed crimes of all sorts including theft and arson. The United Nations appointed Professor Deus Prometh as a specialist. Prometh's theory was that the more the Burnish would be oppressed, the worse things would only get. His advice was not put into consideration as the world emitted pink flames.
Several locations around the Earth were ruined or destroyed. Giza, Egypt was attacked by a massive Burnish tornado. The city of Paris, or at least a portion of it, was decimated by a moving wall of flames. London was on fire, Big Ben set aflame. Volcanoes around the world blew out of control, Burnish agitating them into combustion.
When Kray discusses the world ending from combustion brought by magma inside the core, he brings up the Great World Blaze.
