Vinny (ビニー) is a character in Promare.
A rat in uniform, or at least wearing a helmet, who lives in the National Emergency Rescue Service department building, FDPP. Vinny is the mascot of Burning Rescue and usually works with Lucia who is in charge of mechanics.

Personality[]
As the mascot, Vinny is friendly towards those at Burning Rescue. He is constantly seen with Lucia and eating. Vinny is very gluttonous. However, he does his best to assist others. He may also occasionally jeer though, such as with Galo. Interestingly enough, he is able to say his own name.
Appearance[]
Vinny is a small rat with gray fur and black eyes. His tail is also gray. He wears a small fireman helmet with his large ears poking out. He has six whiskers, three on each side, and buck teeth. He is large enough to press buttons for Lucia.
History[]
Galo-hen[]
Like his other members, Vinny watches Galo's introduction during the events of Galo-hen. When the homemade matoi is dropped, Vinny is shown dodging it.
When Galo is told to stay with Lucia, Vinny is present inside. He is seen reacting to Galo's impatience who, at one point, throws the rat down to the ground. Both him and Lucia then see Galo off. Vinny continues with stay with Lucia throughout the short either eating or monitoring the scene. His only response to Galo's rescue of Thyma is an impressed "Vinny."
Promare[]
During the movie's first rescue mission, Vinny is with Lucia. He switches between eating or pressing buttons for her. When Lio finds the Matoi Tech attached to him, he is next to the button Lucia hits to encase him. Neither Vinny nor Ignis are present when the rest of Burning Rescue celebrates their victory at the pizzeria.
Following Galo's capture, Vinny comforts an upset Aina who is unable to find the firefighter. This doesn't last for long though as she drives off after Ignis' announcement. Vinny is promptly left in the dust. When the group finds Galo during Lio's breakdown of Promepolis, Vinny attempts to help put out Galo with Lucia and Varys. The trio then send him out to where Lio is.
Vinny is seen alongside fellow Burning Rescue members during the movie's climax. He is either with Lucia or eating. When Heris and Lucia assist Galo with the drill, Vinny helps receive a signal for them. It is unknown what the specific purpose of said signal is.

Lucia[]
Vinny is usually seen with Lucia. He mainly eats food littering her work space or sits atop her shoulder. Whenever Lucia is discussing something with co-workers, Vinny is typically seen nodding his head or snickering along. Compared to other members, she is the closest member to him.
Burning Rescue[]
As Burning Rescue's mascot, Vinny is occasionally shown casually interacting with his human counterparts. When Aina was made upset about not finding Galo, Vinny goes out of his way to comfort her. This shows that he genuinely does care for the others.

Etymology[]
- Vinny's name comes from a fireman at Yonkers Fire Department the Promare staff met with[1].
- The name Vinny is derived from the Latin term vincere, which means 'to conquer' or 'to win.'
- He is the only Burning Rescue member without any last name.
